Last week, I made a pretty huge change to this website: I split it in two.
Yes, this move will cause a number of broken links and frustrations for me in the short run, but I needed to cut my own arm off, Aron Ralston-style, and here’s what you need to know now that the messy deed has been done:
TheMarginalized.com will stay right here where it is, under its old name. It will continue on as a human rights site that covers justice issues, often from an arts lens. In the coming months it will be expanding. I’ll let you know when that happens because it will be awesome.
And now I also have a professional writing site at joannacastlemiller.com. This new site is a more lighthearted place where I’ll be sending editors and agents; and it will include posts on writing, SAD, and the creative arts. It will also highlight some scenes and excerpts of my work – I’ve published a scene there today, in fact! So if you come to this site for those non-human-rights topics, or would just like to keep up with me personally, I hope you’ll take a look and subscribe there. (FYI: If it leads back here, clear your cache.)
I’m really, really excited about the changes. Then again, I didn’t really have a choice in the matter. The situation demanded it. Like it demanded of Aron Ralston (and, later, James Franco’s makeup artist).
Thank you again for reading my posts, sharing/publishing your own work, and adding your wise words in the comments and via email. Here’s to a great Year #4.
Note to subscribers via email, RSS, WordPress, etc:
First of all thank you, thank you, thank you!
Some of you subscribed this week. Some of you subscribed 3 years ago. I am grateful for you either way.
You are still a subscriber here by default – so if human rights, human trafficking, activist work, the arts in the non-profit world, or any similar issues brought you here, you can just stay put!
You are NOT subscribed to joannacastlemiller.com. So if you’d like to keep up with me there, I hope you’ll sign up. There’s a subscribe button on the sidebar over there.
