Good News Friday
JOBS JOBS JOBS!
If you’re looking for work in human rights, there are some great job opportunities out there right now. Here are a few with links to their listings:
End Genocide – A growing and dedicated DC-based NGO. Currently seeking policy analysts and web/communications personnel.
USCRI – This refugee advocacy organization seeks multiple director positions, interns and more. Opportunities in DC and elsewhere.
Amnesty International – A human rights giant. Looking for researcher positions and a lot more at their International Secretariat in London.
My short play Ash is getting a reading in NYC this weekend. It’s off-off Broadway, which technically means it’s pretty small, but hey at least the word Broadway is involved. If you’re interested in coming, there’s a $5 suggested donation. Reserve your tickets in advance by emailing fact.reservations(at)gmail.com, because it usually sells out.
Here’s a quick synopsis, slightly edited from my Current Work page (which needs updating):
Sarah invested everything she had and more into her house at the bottom of a hill in rural West Virginia… a hill now used to dump coal ash. Today she finds ash everywhere – in her garden, on her windows, even in her food – and watches as her family and friends get sick and die. Fortunately for Sarah, the coal company has decided to buy her out. But when their representative arrives at her door, everyone’s plans change. Real estate means life or death in this ten-minute short.
That’s it! Since I probably won’t be blogging late next week, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And be careful deep frying those turkeys!
